KBT Interchangeable Heads

Expand the capability of your existing Kinetic Breaching Tool (KBT) with interchangeable mission-specific heads designed to operate on the same powered KBT platform. Rather than purchasing a separate breaching tool for each application, teams can add RAM, CHOP, PUNCH, or RIP heads as operational needs evolve, giving a single KBT system the ability to impact, cut, port, or create an anchor point depending on the mission.

Heads can be changed in seconds using the included Quick Disconnect Band (QD Band), allowing teams to quickly reconfigure the KBT for the task at hand.

Interchangeable Heads

RAM — Powered Impact Breaching

Delivers up to 850 ft/lbs of impact force through a hardened steel ram with 2.5" of plate travel. The narrow striking surface concentrates force on individual hinges and other targeted breach points while providing enough power for demanding applications including metal security screen doors, outward-opening steel doors in steel frames, and porting cinder block walls. The RAM resets in less than one second for rapid follow-up strikes.

CHOP — Powered Cutting

Delivers up to 70 KSI of cutting force through hardened steel teeth to rapidly defeat locks, cables, chains, rebar, wrought iron, and steel bars up to 3/4". The CHOP teeth are designed to withstand hundreds of cuts and can be replaced in the field using a single hex wrench.

PUNCH — Powered Porting

Designed to create rapid access points through safety glass, hurricane-rated glass and vehicle windows, as well as drywall, PUNCH delivers 850 ft/lbs of impact force through a 4" diameter combined shatter-and-cut impact face. Laminated glass combines a glass exterior with an internal plastic or polymer layer, requiring the tool to both break the glass and cut through the laminate. PUNCH incorporates features on the impact face designed to defeat both materials in a single powered application. It can be used to create openings for deploying diversionary devices, establishing observation points, or creating rifle ports without requiring a conventional doorway breach.

RIP — Powered Anchor Deployment

Designed to create a secure attachment point where one does not already exist, RIP gives teams another option for defeating difficult barriers such as garage doors. The head delivers 850 ft/lbs of impact force to penetrate the target material, then anchors itself on the opposite side while leaving an exterior attachment point accessible to the team. Once deployed, RIP can be connected to a vehicle or other pulling system and provides a 10,000 lb. tensioned safe working load, allowing substantial pulling force to be applied to remove or displace the barrier.

Each head includes the Quick Disconnect Band (QD Band) for rapid installation and removal. Compatible with the Kinetic Breaching Tool System. Cylinders and ammunition sold separately.
