AARDVARK Report – May 2026

Welcome to the AARDVARK Report!

We had a great time in Round Rock, TX last month! Thank you to TTPOA for hosting an incredible show and bringing together some of the best agencies and industry partners in law enforcement. We're looking forward to next year, and to our next show: NTOA. Will we see you there?

Spotlight on the M1-SWAT Acoustic Hailer

Crystal clear commands that penetrate structures and cut through chaos

Standard vehicle PA systems often fail when you need them most. Background noise drowns out commands, and poor audio quality can escalate situations when subjects can't understand what you're telling them to do. Getting clear communication to barricaded subjects or crowd control scenarios becomes nearly impossible with basic equipment.

The M1-SWAT delivers 120dB of penetrating audio that cuts through ambient noise and reaches into structures at distances up to 750 feet. Designed specifically for Lenco BearCat® integration, it mounts quickly with rare-earth magnets and provides broadcast clarity that can de-escalate situations through clear, intelligible commands.

BearCat® Integration – Retrofits directly into your center console with pre-terminated battery cables and toolless magnetic roof mounting

Penetrating Audio Technology – Flat compression wave projection cuts through background noise and penetrates structures where standard speakers fail

Adjustable Coverage Pattern – Rotate speakers to adjust spread from 90 to 180 degrees, allowing precise targeting or wide area coverage as needed

Why it matters: Clear commands can prevent escalation and save lives. When subjects can actually hear and understand what you're saying, compliance rates typically improve significantly.

120dB output, 350Hz-7KHz range, 1440W power, 750+ foot effective range, Bang & Olufsen amplification

PROJECT 7 Armor's P7K9 is changing the game

Patent-pending design protects vital areas without restricting bite work

Traditional K9 armor forces handlers to choose between protection and performance. Standard vests either leave critical chest and neck areas exposed or restrict the dog's ability to move, search, and engage suspects effectively. When your partner takes rounds in these unprotected zones, the outcome can be fatal.

PROJECT 7 has fixed this issue. The P7K9 uses biomechanical engineering with pivoting fasteners and structured ballistics to cover high-threat chest and neck areas while maintaining full mobility. The scalable yoke system lets you add protection for high-risk entries, then strip it down for routine patrol work.

Biomechanical Design – Pivoting fasteners and contoured ballistics protect chest and neck without impeding bite work or mobility

Scalable Protection – Quick-release yoke adds coverage for high-threat entries, removes in seconds for normal operations

Rapid Deployment – Don or doff in under 30 seconds without forcing the dog through holes or straps

Anti-Tamper Profile – Concealed buckles and sleek design prevent suspects from removing armor during engagements

Why it matters: When your K9 partner goes through the door first, you need armor that protects the areas where dogs typically take fatal hits without turning them into a liability.

Three sizes (50-100 lbs), Cobra or Fastex buckle options, scalable yoke system, developed with elite K9 teams over 3 years of testing.

How-To: Deploy the SWIFT Through Wall Camera Effectively

The TWC's 2mm probe can penetrate drywall for covert surveillance, but deployment success depends on proper drilling technique. Here's how to create clean, discreet access points through two layers of standard drywall.

Pre-Deployment Setup

  • Select 8-inch probe for standard residential walls
  • Choose 17-inch probe for commercial construction
  • Identify wall composition and locate studs to avoid structural interference
  • Position the Wall Punch against the target wall surface at your desired entry point

Creating the Access Hole

  • Press the Wall Punch firmly into the drywall to create initial penetration
  • Insert the Clearing Drill through the Wall Punch guide
  • Apply steady, controlled pressure while rotating the drill clockwise
  • Drill completely through both drywall layers until you feel the drill break through the far side
  • Remove drill and debris, leaving the Wall Punch in place as a guide sleeve

Camera Deployment

  • Thread the 2mm stainless steel probe through the Wall Punch guide
  • Advance the camera slowly until the lens clears the far wall surface
  • Use the optional 1-inch AMOLED eyepiece for immediate visual confirmation
  • Stream to TE5 monitor or Android device via 802.11g for team viewing
  • Capture snapshots of critical intelligence using the snapshot function

The Wall Punch acts as both cutting guide and concealment sleeve; keep it in place throughout the operation to maintain hole integrity and enable quick camera extraction.
